Needle and Thread open space
Andrea Mindel studies embroidery at the Royal School of Needlework, and is also an Ambassador for the disability arts charity Outside In. She is offering a Needle and Thread Open Space on the second Saturday of every month, where you can bring your handiwork to the Village Hall and come and sew, knit, crochet and create.
Share your own skills and learn some new ones : one-to-one tuition can be arranged in crochet, knitting, hand quilting, embroidery (including crewelwork, blackwork, goldwork and silk shading) as well as darning and visible mending.
There will be a mending service available by appointment so you can drop off and collect clothing that needs mending – including darning knitwear, at reasonable prices.
Local handmade cards, bags, T-shirts and sewing supplies etc will be on sale and there will be an annual market in December.
Meetings will be held monthly from 2.30pm – 4.30pm in Rodmell Village Hall, and dates will be shown in the Events section of this website. Please make contact if you would like to participate in the Christmas Market on 18 December.
Everyone is welcome, all ages, and skill levels, though places are limited so as to allow personal attention, and you are asked to give a donation towards costs.
If you’d like to book a place, or have any queries, please call Andrea Mindel on 07881 288063.
