Children's Choir
7th Sep 2010
The Choir will next sing in Church in September.
Jenny Brown says:
There will not be a choir in August because of holidays, but the next practise will be on Tuesday 7th September ready for the Family Service on 12th.
We will meet on the Tuesday at a slightly later time of 3.45pm as some of our members are now at Priory and will be arriving by bus.
A big thank you to Olive Kemm for all she does for the choir, playing piano and teaching and playing on the Sunday.
At our Family Service in March, being Mothering Sunday, was a huge success in which the Choir sang well and there was a large congregation of about 50!
Would your children like to sing in Rodmell Church once a month?
Jenny Brown has started a children's choir for the 11am Family Service in St Peter's Church, Rodmell, for the 2nd Sunday of each month. This is a comparatively short service of about 40mins, with calypso hymn & songs, and ends with tea, coffee and soft drinks for all.
Jenny Brown says:
The choir is now up and running. We have performed for the Carol Service and again at the Family Service on Valentine's Day. So far we have five children, with more saying they are interested. This is marvellous and I am very grateful to the parents and to Olive Kemm, who plays the piano and coaches them. We will soon need more choir robes!!
Rehearsals are once a month in Rodmell church
Rehearsals are at 3.45pm on the Monday before the Family Service so that boredom doesn't set in and by then we know which songs will be sung. So that is only one practice a month! If something special comes along we will have more.
These are not designed to be singing lessons, but will be rehearsals for the songs at the Family Service and not during school holidays unless specified.
