Parking problems in our narrow village roads

Rodmell is an old village and many residents do not have offstreet parking. Please could visitors and residents alike take care when parking, to make sure they are not blocking any entrances by being too close or by parking directly opposite an entrance and making turning difficult. Thank you!

Community Bus 130 - New return time from Brighton

Our excellent weekday community Bus 130 to and from Brighton has a new earlier return time Monday-Friday. Please see About Rodmell for details.

New Scout Group

Having run a very successful Cubs Group in the village for some time, the organisers have just started a new Scouts Group for boys and girls aged over 10½. At the moment, Scout meetings are held at the same time as the Cubs (6.30-8pm on Thursdays) but at Barn Croft at the bottom of the Village. Contact Ali Rabjohns i@feltgoodfeltfine.com

Church volunteers needed

Carol Putnam (474650) really does need volunteers to join her rota for cleaning or arranging the flowers in our Church. It is rather a privilege to help look after our lovely Church and only entails a few hours on one day about every 8 weeks.

Rodmell Wood Scheme

Are you looking for firewood? Rodmell Wood Scheme will deliver local sustainable wood at very competitive prices. Logs will be available for Winter 2012. See Groups & Activities for details.

Allotments in Rodmell

For information about allotments in Rodmell, and to see the new agreement for allotment holders - please see About Rodmell and RPC Allotment Agreement.

Late night noise

There were a few parties during the summer months when noise late at night brought complaints from those living nearby. For information about what to do about excessive noise - for both party-givers and those disturbed by the noise - see Notice Board.

Problem dogs on The Drove

There are stout new gates on the smallholding on The Drove (the unmade road from the bottom of Rodmell leading through The Brooks to the River Ouse). Although this has helped to keep the dogs off The Drove, they still get out if the gates are left open.
It is important that anyone who experiences problems (in particular, any dog attacks) when walking past the smallholding should please inform the Clerk to the Parish Council, so that she can keep a record. This will help with future resolutions of this problem.
Rodmell Parish Council continues to try to find a solution to this problem (see Minutes of Parish Council Meetings Groups & Activities).
